Adventures In Being A "Seamstress"

I like to sew. My mom taught me my way around a sewing machine when I was little and I've always loved it. I used to sew tops for my younger sisters, I even used to cross-titch and hand embroider. But I am not a seamstress. I like to pretend that I know what I am doing when it comes to re-working, making, and fixing clothes. So this next project is going to be real learning experience for me. I am working with one of the most dreaded materials for a neophyte like me...CHIFFON!

I love my dress form

See that long, long hem. That's with the form at the proper height for the shoes I'm wearing. Yeah, I'm a shortie. Thankfully, the ladies at the Fabric Hut helped me pick out some backing, gave me some advice and words of encouragement. How can you not listen to ladies who have been sewing longer then I have been alive? They know their stuff, and I can't wait to dive into the deep end with this project.

So here I go! Wish me luck out there!
